How to Cut Out Part of an Image

ChatDesigner providers the most sophisticated suite of background manipulation tools. It not only allow you to remove background of a defined foreground, but also let you cut out any part of the image by simply typing it.
This feature comes handy when you need a ghost photo of a garment shoot, or need to extract a specific object or shape without having to select the areas manually.

Cut out image from photo

Step 1: Click the image you’d like to edit, either from generated images or uploaded images.

Step 2: Enter prompt Segment [Target]

You’ll get 1 image with only the target cut out.

Using the segment prompt will remove everything else in the background besides the target object in your prompt

Sample Prompts:

  • Segment the [target object]
  • Extract the [target object]
  • Carve out the [target object]

Pro tips:

  • Use prompt segment for the best results. Although using “Cut out”, “Crop out” or other prompt phrases might also work the same way, sometimes these prompts could triage to removing the target object. Therefore, we suggest using prompt “Segment” for the best results and consistency.
  • Specify all objects in the area you’d like to cut out. If there are multiple objects in the same area you’d like to cut out, you will need to specify all the elements in your prompts.
For example, in the image example above, if you want to cut out the pattern of the tiger, simply typing “Segment the tiger” will leave the flower area blank. So if you need the entire pattern, you need to type “Segment the tiger and the flower”.
